Job Description


A leading global audio visual and collaborations solutions company is seeking an experienced AV Technician with recent experience in the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital projection systems and audio systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in technical support, networking, field service, PC repair, or a related field. In addition a strong foundation in electrical/electronic understanding and troubleshooting skills is a must.

**Note: This is a remote road warrior position with significant travel required.**

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repair and maintenance tasks on digital projection systems and audio systems.
  • Conduct audio/video tests and calibrations using specialized equipment.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of electrical and electronic principles to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
  • Identify and resolve failures within the AV signal flow, ensuring the proper functioning of components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and find optimal solutions.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and emerging technologies related to AV systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support, addressing technical inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in repairing, maintaining, and understanding the theory of digital projection systems and/or audio systems.
  • Proficiency in conducting audio/video tests and calibrations, utilizing appropriate equipment.
  • Strong electrical and electronic understanding, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Extensive experience with AV and Electronic testing tools such as Voltmeters and Multimeters
  • In-depth knowledge of AV signal flow and the ability to identify and troubleshoot failed components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and provide support to customers.
  • Detail-oriented approach to documentation and record-keeping.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Specialized Skills:
  • Experience with professional audio and A/V technologies (AES3, SDI, HDMI)
  • Previous experience with troubleshooting at the board level for AV equipment utilizing software, error logs and service manuals
  • Knowledge of audio signal processing and audio I/O implementation is a plus
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, and switching
  • Negotiating skills in dealing with customers
  • Excellent work ethics
  • Excellent technical problem solving, troubleshooting, follow up skills
  • Must be able to identify a problem and the ability to troubleshoot to a resolve
  • Audio calibration experience
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college preferred
  • Ability to achieve results, meet deadlines and adjust to quickly changing requirements and environment.
