Job Description

The Field Service Technician is a skilled technician with expertise in technology installation, exceptional customer service, proficiency in cabling, wiring, and troubleshooting of systems and networks. This role involves altering configurations, diagnosing system failures, and resolving issues related to various systems. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a vital role in ongoing training and development programs, continually facing new challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and debug applications in the field using industry-standard software languages, including Crestron, Extron, QSC, and others.
- Efficiently make graphical user interface adjustments as directed during field assignments.
- Evaluate existing systems and provide accurate information for Software Developers to create functional code.
- Systematically troubleshoot, identify potential failure causes, and thoroughly test all points of failure.
- Accurately complete all required documentation and forms throughout the service and troubleshooting process.
- Configure installed devices to optimal settings.
- Load and configure Control & DSP codes.
- Test and force-fail systems on-site to ensure robust performance.
- Communicate effectively with Software Developers, Lead Installers, Installation Manager, Service Manager, and Systems and Design Engineering teams regarding system-related queries and concerns.
- Open service tickets with manufacturers and collaborate with them during on-site troubleshooting.
- Create Local Area Networks (LANs) for device communication, separate from the client's existing network infrastructure.
- Establish WLANs for wireless device communication.
- Maintain professional communication with client IT staff regarding specific system requirements and potential issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Preferred certifications in Poly, Q-SYS, Crestron, and/or Biamp software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in reading and comprehending audiovisual engineering drawings.
- Prior experience in reading, understanding, and explaining CAD functional, riser, and architectural drawings.
- Self-motivated individual who excels in both team and independent work settings.
- Strong documentation skills and extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and convey a comprehensive understanding of system requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel overnight for approximately 10 to 15% of the work year, with distribution among the installation team based on workload and skillsets.
